Neighbors for Responsible Govt 2009
Sleepy Hollow, New York
Village Government Election - Wednesday, March 18, 2009

Elect Neighbors for Responsible Government!
Sleepy Hollow Neighbors for Responsible Government are Democrats, Republicans and Independent voters - united to ensure responsible management and fiscal responsibility in village government - responsible to all our neighbors and to the protection of our village on the Hudson River.

Our mayoral, trustee and village judge candidates are our neighbors - not paid politicians - they do not serve special interest groups.

They are long-term residents volunteering their personal time in service to our community. Each is a seasoned manager with the business expertise and intelligence to listen to and deliver what Sleepy Hollow residents need.

They love Sleepy Hollow and will fight to protect all our neighbors and our village's future!

Why we're volunteering to serve our neighbors...
I. FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
For the first time in a decade Sleepy Hollow taxes did not go up last year, thanks to the hard work of volunteer trustees working for their neighbors! In the previous 5 years the village tax rate had increased FOUR TIMES faster than the U.S. inflation rate.

Sleepy Hollow needs trustees with management experience - tough enough to hold the budget line, audit contracts, negotiate hard for increased revenue from General Motors and new developments, reduce village taxes and bring fiscal responsibliity during the tough economic times ahead.

As mayor and trustees -- fiscal responsibility will be our number one priority!

II. SMART DEVELOPMENT
Sleepy Hollow's General Motors plant site is the premier development site on the Hudson River. This major asset provides an historic opportunity for the village to raise significant added tax revenue AND improve the quality of life for today's residents.

No new developments will go forward without a prior third party economic assessment that determines the highest tax revenue solution with the least added density for our already crowded 1 square mile village.

As mayor and trustees we will ensure all new development is a win:win for residents - more tax relief - less overcrowding!

III. RESPONSIBLE GOVERNMENT
Sleepy Hollow must have open government that not only encourages but acts on public discussion, and seeks the best solutions for all neighbors.

As mayor and trustees we will respect ALL our neighbors, and lead with honesty and integrity, without bias or favortism!
